Lifa was established in 2013 with the vision of bringing our communications expertise along with our knowledge of the African market and industries to local and international clients.

Lifa’s dedicated team consists of communications, marketing finance, branding, design and media specialists with extensive experience in each of our focus fields who challenge the status quo. This dynamic and skilled team of visionaries and achievers is run and managed by Gabriella von Ille, the original founder of Lifa.
Born and raised in Sweden, Gabriella started her career in the Office of Congressional and Public Affairs for a financial regulator in Washington DC. She thereafter took a job as a journalist, which exposed her to diverse parts of the world, including Brazil, Colombia, various West African countries, the UK, Australia and Southern Africa. Gabriella has a double degree in Political Science and Media & Communications from Sweden and the US.
An accountant turned communications and marketing specialist, focusing on mining and renewable energy for mining companies and organisations. She is a BCom Accounting graduate from University of Witwatersrand, where she obtained her leadership skills from serving on a number of student council bodies. Having been born and raised in a mining town, she worked at a global mining company for 4 years. In her experience, she was exposed to the full pit-to-port mining value chain.
Strategic communications professional with a diverse cultural background. Born in Harare, raised in Kenya, South Africa and Zimbabwe, she holds a BA Hons in International Relations and an MA in Crisis Communication Theory. 6 years of experience in communications that include strategy, management and public relations. She worked at a development bank, where she became the youngest member to implement a full digital and marketing strategy.
Kuda holds a BA Honours Degree in Linguistics and Chinese from the University of Zimbabwe and is currently studying for a Public Relations qualification with UNISA. Born and raised in Zimbabwe, Kuda is an ambitious account executive specialising in media liaison, website updates, social media management, design and distribution of newsletters.
Valuable industry experience in mining journalism, sales & marketing, media relations, digital media, and social media account management. Previously worked for SA Mining Magazine and Business Media MAGS as a Digital Editor. Tshepo holds a N.Dip in Public Relations and Communications from University of Johannesburg and is currently studying towards obtaining a BTech degree in Public Relations Management at Tshwane University of Technology.
Samantha is a writer, editor, and translator and holder of a double BA in political science and history from Kentucky Wesleyan College and an MSc in Comparative Politics from the LSE. She has edited or translated for Nobel prizewinners, former and current diplomats and heads of state, high-level IMF and World Bank technocrats, etc. Her writing has appeared in publications like Foreign Affairs, Quartz, New Internationalist, New Statesman, and the Washington Post.
Jessica is a communications strategist, project manager, researcher and podcaster specialising in Africa. She has 15 years experience working with companies, governments, investors and institutions across Africa. With a background in political risk and government relations in the mining sector, Jessica helps Lifa clients to understand their audience, hone their messaging, and find the right channels. Born and educated in South Africa, Jessica now lives in the United Kingdom.
Miguel is a graphic designer with over a decade’s experience in corporate and creative design. He has worked for private sector businesses as well as advertising agencies. Miguel specialises in editorial design and corporate identity which includes logos, branding, advertising and design. He also has a passion for animation, illustration and website design. He has been responsible for the corporate identity design of numerous clients under Lifa since inception.
No project is too big or small for our team. We represent upcoming start-ups and SMEs all the way up to multibillion-dollar companies. Our clients are private companies, listed entities, organizations and governments.
