Lifa was established in 2013 with the vision of bringing our communications expertise and knowledge of the African market to local and international clients.

Our dedicated team of professionals consists of communications, marketing finance, branding, design and media specialists who challenge the status quo and boast extensive experience in each of our focus areas. This dynamic and skilled team of visionaries and achievers is run and managed by Gabriella von Ille.
Managing director of Lifa, with 10 years of experience in strategic communications and reputation management. Started her career in the Office of Congressional and Public Affairs for a financial regular in Washington DC and thereafter took a job as a mining journalist, which exposed her to diverse parts of the world. Gabriella has a double degree in Political Science and Media Communications from Sweden and the U.S.
Account manager with many years’ experience in accounting. She previously worked for a global mining company in Limpopo, South Africa, where she was exposed to the full pit-to-port mining value chain. Sewela specialises in investor relations, specifically within the mining and renewable energy sectors. She is a BCom Accounting graduate from the University of Witwatersrand, where she developed her leadership skills while serving on several student council bodies.
Communications specialist with 6 years’ experience in communications, including strategy, management and implementation. She has worked with think tanks, advocacy groups, social movements and civil society in Tanzania, Kenya and South Africa, always focused on implementing integrated engagement strategies across a variety of communication channels. She holds a BA Hons in International Relations and an MA in Crisis Communication Theory from the University of Cape Town.
Public relations and media relations professional with 7 years’ industry experience. She has worked with local and international mining companies in South Africa and Zimbabwe. Kudakwashe specialises in media relations, social media management and communications strategy. She holds a BA Honours degree in Linguistics and Chinese and is currently studying for a degree in Public Relations.
Jessica is a communications strategist, project manager, researcher and podcaster specialising in Africa. She has 15 years experience working with companies, governments, investors and institutions across Africa. With a background in political risk and government relations in the mining sector, Jessica helps Lifa clients to understand their audience, hone their messaging, and find the right channels. Born and educated in South Africa, Jessica now lives in the United Kingdom.
Communications and social media professional with over 3 years’ experience in mining journalism, sales and marketing, media relations, digital media, and social media management. He previously worked for SA Mining magazine and Business Media MAGS as a digital editor. Holds a N.Dip in Public Relations and Communications from the University of Johannesburg and is currently studying towards obtaining a BTech degree in PR Management at Tshwane University of Technology.
Writer, editor and translator with 10 years of experience in editing and translating for Nobel prize-winners, heads of state, IFI technocrats and many more. Her writing has been featured in publications including Foreign Affairs, Quartz, New Internationalist, New Statesman, and the Washington Post. She holds a double BA degree in Political Science and History from Kentucky Wesleyan College and an MSc in Comparative Politics from the LSE.
Enthusiastic design professional with 10 years experience with the broader graphic design field. Work experience within the Advertising, Marketing, PR, industrial Design, and Wholesale industries with extensive experience with branding, packaging, print, layout, digital and UX/UI design. Qualified with a BA in applied design minoring in Photography as well as a a BSc Honours in Digital Design, Technology and Innovation from the Dublin Institute of Technology.
Miguel is a graphic designer with over 12 years’ experience in corporate and creative design. He has worked for private sector businesses as well as advertising agencies. Worked at lifa since its inception. Miguel is supported by a number of designers, animators and web developers working at Lifa.
No project is too big or too small for our team. We represent up-and-coming start-ups and SMEs all the way up to multibillion-dollar companies. Our clients are private companies, listed entities, organisations and governments.
